Ungodly Sex or Love?

Someone once asked the following questions:

Quote:
Have you ever sat to ponder over this issue, LOVE?
I grew up learning that, "God is love, and anything that is ungodly isn't love." How true can this be? Is it true? Rhetorical questions keep dancing in my mind. Is Sex, or Lovemaking godly? Is it right to make love before your wedding night?

The Bible didn't encourage us to do so, meaning it ain't right, but how we avoid it, when it is the main spice in the soup of any relationship (lovers own o!).

Hardly can you come across a guy who wouldn't pester you for sex. They always have their reasons too. I don't want to go into details, but we know that it is hard to do without sex in a solid relationship, even though it is ungodly.

Since sex is ungodly, that means making love does not signify True and Real Love.

Re: Ungodly Sex or Love?

Going by your statement, I assume it's safe to assume you are referring to sex that is casual as just 'sex,' while considering that which is in a relationship as 'making love.' If that be the case, I'll try to use the same terms to broach the issues you've raised. Since your questions were also raised within the context of God's word (the Bible inclusive), I'll also try to address them in the same context.

Sex as an act of copulation was designed by God whether it be for producing children or simply for pleasure, I believe the intent was that it should be within marriage between men and women.

Some of the times the issue of sex was raised or simply alluded to in the Bible include the following statements or advices:
1) That man (i.e., man and woman since the bible referred to both sexes as man) should go out and multiply. Human sexual organs were designed for the purpose of having sex, without which it is naturally impossible to bear children. (we are not speaking of babies created in petrii dishes).
2) That man should leave his parents and he and a woman should cleave together to become one.
3) That rather than lust, man and/or woman should find a mate to marry.
4) That when fasting and praying, man or woman should not extend this practice excessively to the point of depriving their mate, hence giving satan (temptations) the opportunity to cause discord in their marriage.

The Bible also lists the types of sex that God considers abnormal, perverted, immoral, an abomination, and thus sin (ungodly), sometimes with deadly consequences. These include sex with the same gender (homosexuality), sex with family (including half-sisters and brothers, step-parents, aunts, uncles, grandchildren) members (incest), sex with in-laws (including your wife's sister), sex with animals (bestiality), sex with the dead (necromancy), forced sexual encounters (rape and sodomy), etc.

God also considered sex before marriage (i.e., sex without asking for the hands of another or the exchange of vows to commit -- whether performed traditionally, or in a registry, church, mosque, etc.) to be fornication. While it considered sex outside of marriage as adultery.

So sex (making love) in the capacity for which it was designed is not ungodly. We usually use the term 'making love' to declare that the sex shared was in the act of love rather than casually, to ease one's sexual desires. (This is the reason one was advised to marry rather than lust.) Then one can have as much sex as one desires, for childbearing or pleasure because it would be within the boundaries one has committed to.

Unfortunately, (or maybe not for some) man today has come up with several reasons and excuses for fulfilling his desires without and outside of marriage. Some men even demand that their mates get pregnant before they marry them, sometimes only to dump them; while some women try to entrap men by getting pregnant, sometimes to succeed and sometimes to still get dumped.

The desire for sex has become so undisciplined that it has now become the driving force in almost every aspect of society. (e.g. you watch a hamburger AD using sex as a selling point, or a hair shampoo AD oohing and aahing to use sex as a selling point; not to talk of the mode of dressing, availability of sexual paraphernalia, abundance of sexual outlets through porno movies, internet porn, sex massage parlors, swingers' bars, prostitution parlours, etc.)

From the biblical standpoint, society has become so immoral, and sex has become so CASUAL, that marriage is no longer considered sacred, and sometimes deemed unimportant or unnecessary, or as we have now seen in our politically correct environment, the marriage institution is now being expanded to permit 'man' rather than God's desire and will, to include unions between men and men.

May it not get to the points where animals become the next mates chosen to be included in the marriage institution, after all some countries presently do not frown on bestiality
and participants may one day deem it their right to marry their dogs, horses, goats and bulls. Funny and strange one may think, but definitely not impossible in this rapidly decaying society.
After all, fathers (including adoptive fathers as in the case of the NY actor who began by having sex, and then eventually married his adopted child) are now seeing nothing wrong in sleeping with their daughters. Mormons on the other hand see nothing wrong in having sex with mothers and daughters, and even sisters of the same bloodline.

Nowadays many have the desire to sow their oats or test the merchandise (as they say) before embarking on marriage, and only God and the individuals actually know the true number of so-called merchandise such people have tasted or will taste in their lifetime.

So in answer to your question, Sex (making love) in the appropriate circumstances i.e. within the institution of marriage is indeed Godly, while sex before (fornication) or outside of marriage (adultery) is considered ungodly.

The types of sex beyond casual sex on the other hand are not only ungodly, but also deemed perverse, immoral, abnormal and/or an abomination.

Question 1, if true, I would like the writer to mention a country that presently DO NOT FROWN ON BESTIALITY?

Comment: To be clear up front I will never condone bestiality even if at gunpoint to my head, however, I seriously wonder if indeed that the human race will decay to a point where human being will have the decency to advocate for a right to marry animals of any kind. I just hope I am not alive when this happens.

Very interesting piece indeed.

Yes, it is true that Bestiality is legal in some countries. Both Denmark and Norway do NOT prohibit Sex with ANIMALS. They condone it so far the animals do not suffer.
