Firm Unveils Software for Police, Prisons

FrankWilson Consulting a United States based technology services and outsourcing firm has unveiled an integrated suite of innovative software packages designed to boost the capacity of Nigerian security agencies in service delivery and enhancement of public safety. The firm has also established the Prime Source Solution Institute (PSSI), a world class academy in Abuja to provide capacity building for public and private sector personnel in information communication technology.

The softwares namely Police-Pak, Jail -Pak, Pocket-Pak, Mobile-Pak, Sheriff-Pak andGeo-Pak were developed by the Southern Software Incorporated, United Staes of America introduced at a seminar in Abuja. FrankWilson's Principal Consultant, Technology Architecture, Mr, Wilson Okushi who unveiled the products described them as I solutions suitable to resolving many of the security challenges facing Nigeria. Okushi disclosed that the Police-Pak, a Microsoft SQL Server application. provides error checking for Ibase reports and allows for data searches on virtually any field. [It also] enables users to draw accident diagrams on the computer.

According to Okushi, the software also permits user to attach digital mug shot images to an arrest and then later create a lineup. On the other hand, the Pocket-Pak enables a policeman view a robbery incident from a handheld device even as the robbery takes place. 'This can be very useful in the sense that the police authorities could instantaneously evalute the extent of the crime and be able to determine the level of re-inforcement needed to combat the criminals.

Simarly, the Jail-Pak software offers successful inmate management and reporting system that could radically change the present deplorable condition of Nigerian Prisons and evolve a reliable data base for prison administartors and the government. It could also assist the nation to have a data base of everyone that has ever been to prison and make the ex-convict controversies involving public officials a thing of the past.

"These solutions have enabled organizations in the US, Europe, and Africa to operate more efficiently, increase value, minimize fraud, lower operating expenses and enter new markets profitably.," Okushi said. He descibed FrankWilson Global Consulting Services as a firm dedicated to exceeding clients' expectations by leveraging best in-class business practices, multi industry experience, technology, out of the box thinking, and dynamic leadership.

Okushi maintained that the firm has a vision to harness the power of technology as a change agent to transform the technically challenged into world class data driven entities. This corporate vision , he said, is the driving force behind the company's creation, development and implemention of practical solutions that add value. and create momentum for sustainable change.

On the Prime Source Solution Institute, Okushi said, the project behgan about a year ago, adding that the institute will be formally opened in Abuja by the end of June, 2007. The institute, he said,, is committed to delivering the best Information technology training in Africa by designing, developing, and offering a high quality training curricula; as well as forming strategic partnerships with successful institutions in the United States and Nigeria.

"Our multi-campus institution of advanced IT learning is focused on helping students acquire relevant industry knowledge and skills as they pursue, build, and advance their careers in many of today's most in-demand fields. It will provide hands-on training practical in technology. Training is based on industry standards and best practices. Our curriculum is aligned with skills necessary for success rather than arbitrary assignment.. Career-oriented learning means that all courses contribute directly to professional preparation to meet the requirements employers look for when hiring.," he said.
