Bachelor Hunting

A carnival dubbed "Kamun Gwauro" (meaning Bachelor Catch in local Hausa) started over two centuries ago. It was strengthened and given official recognition during the reign of the puritanical ex-emir of Kano, Alu Maisango (1894 to 1901).
