There's not much to elaborate on. If most contributors to this thread enlighten us with various answers and reasons, we will be able to form some opinion or conclusion.

Personally, I'm not involved with multiple concurent partners- (too much time, money, energy, unwanted and unforseen complications.) So I can't give much of a personal insight. In fact I'm wary of friends and acquaintances that cheat. I can merely speculate as to why they are unfaithful.

Now before we get into a gender war and start hurling invectives, we need to bear one thing in mind: The basic fact is that human beings are very sexual animals by design. We are one of very few if not the only creature that can engage in sexual activity at will. In fact a good part of our existence and energies revolves directly and indirectly around sex and sexual energy. (Clothes we wear, cars we drive, music, politics, our behavior, the SHAVING OR NOT OF ARMPITS and other places, etc, etc.)

It's sad to hear about new HIV incidences, but Nigerians, both men and women need to check themselves before they trip themselves.

If the 2 factors causing the multiplying effects of HIV do NOT stop, it will be like one of their ministers in office predicted, that by 2020, one-third (30 million) of the population would be infected by HIV.

These 2 factors are the women that continue to prostitute in Western Europe, most especially in Italy and London thus bringing home a variety of diseases; and the promiscuous men who 'refuse' to find satisfaction in one mate. Monogamy as difficult, far-fetched or foreign as it may seem for most of them is the key, and cheating on their spouses (by both male and female) only continues to heighten the chances of contracting deadly sexual diseases, and the potential for wiping out a whole population.

Presently, homosexuals in Nigeria are now fighting for gay rights.
Since sodomy is now being legalized in States in America, and an openly gay man was ordained Bishop recently contrary to Christian beliefs and doctrines, it seems morality is going to the dogs, so why will (some) not embrace (all) in a country that's fast becoming the next melting pot of sin. Nigeria blindly accommodates every immorality, illegality and trash from the western world, while thinking it's becoming hip (or westernized), so for (some) ignorant minds that think voodoo will prevent them from contracting HIV, I suppose the wake up call just began.

Man, seriously u guys are hilarious!! I'm starting to spend almost as much time as the moderator on this forum.

And also Cxsm, i'm definitely feeling the whole hiv/aids thing. it's important to for us esp as black ppl to keep this epidemic in the forefront of our consciousness. the truth about how this disease is killing many of us is definitely sobering.

I can tell u that in many big city hospitals, doctors would rather not work where there is a high popul. of black patients b/c of the unfortunate but real risk of contracting hepatitis c or hiv. U can just imagine them freaking out excessively if they thought they were stuck with a patient's needle. Can u blame them?

Cxsm, this rise in homosexuality is going to blow hiv thru the roof.
