Dear Compatriot,

Prayer for Our Fatherland

Do you believe in prayers and the actions that go with them, for our prayers to come true? Do you agree that our current (nearly hopeless) situation in this country requires us to effect a paradigm shift in the content and focus of our prayers, if we are to experience a reversal in the worsening situation of Nigerians?

Then consider this:

So far, all we have been doing is to pray for good things to come our way. But if good things are coming our way, but evil (which has the propensity to multiply exponentially) is not diminished or eliminated, the good will be short-lived. Therefore, for our prayers for the good of Nigeria to be effective, we must constantly pray for the wiping out of evil people, evil thoughts, evil deeds and evil inclinations in the land.

The following ?PRAYER FOR OUR ?FATHERLAND? suggests a petition that we must place before God all the time, in addition to asking for the good things we want from HIM.

· Thank you Almighty God, for giving us our own country Nigeria.

· Thank you for the wealth and abundance of people, fertile land, water, forests, petroleum, solid minerals and a lot more you have blessed us with.

· Father, we know that it is through the machination of our kith and kin that the peace, love and unity we need to enjoy the blessings you have given us continue to elude us.

· We are tired of suffering and wallowing in poverty in the midst of plenty.

· Father, we are crying to you to release us from the bondage of hatred, greed and sheer wickedness of man.

· Uproot and render totally ineffective O Lord, all those who fan hatred and instigate violence in the land.

· Uproot and render totally ineffective O Lord, all those who steal the wealth of our country to enrich themselves and other nations.

· Uproot and render totally ineffective O Lord, all those whose greed impoverish the common man.

· Uproot and render ineffective O Lord, all those whose thoughts, words and deeds threaten the peace in our father land.

· Uproot and render ineffective O Lord, all those who lack the humility to serve but only want to rule at all costs.

· Remove O Lord from public office and render totally ineffective all those who lack the capacity or have simply refused to put the interest of the ordinary Nigerian above their own.

· Merciful Father, the conduct and outcome of the nationwide elections worry us seriously. Extinguish quickly, O Lord all those who plan to rig or manipulate those elections, or create tension and violence in the land because of those elections.

· Father, raise in every family, in every ward, in every Local Government Area and in every State in the Land, O Lord, a new set of patriots and leaders who will champion the cause of ordinary Nigerians and use them to usher in brotherly love, unity, peace, progress and prosperity.

· Help us in our helplessness O Lord and

· Grant us all these and more O Lord. A M E N
