God's plan is what matters most. Life is definitely a journey, albeit we get sidetracked once in a while, but we still accomplish that which is set before us. The prayer is that we enjoy the fullness and goodness of each task before us. God who has promised that we shall by no means lack a good mate has always made good on His promises. Even when we fall short, He is merciful to forgive us and still blesses us as we repent.
At times we meet people who we think are the ultimate, but it's not about looks or personal belongings or achievements, but about genuine love, respect and understanding. We all seek to not just meet, but remain with a person who meets these qualities. One who we can relate to in these terms, because of understanding can grow along with us, forgive when we disappoint and comfort when the need arises, while simultaneously giving us the room to be independent. Usually, when we meet this person, there's a connection that cannot be broken. The love we share with this person allows us to be tolerant and patient when the need arises, for no one, not one is perfect.
Our prayer is that God directs that person to us or we to them and for each person to recognize that "that is the soul mate designated for one". Life can be distracting and we can be picky and even downright judgmental, but then a life partner is not a decision to make frivolously. What helps is loving and getting to truly know and accept oneself, faults and all, then it is easier to accept another. For some the search is easier, but ultimately when we trust God to guide us, it can lead to a pot of joy at the end of the rainbow.
Yes indeed many a hearts have been broken, but then God and time have a way of mending and healing our hearts. Without brokenness there can't be restoration. Even God asks us to come before Him with a broken and contrite heart, for in Him is strength to heal, restore and renew. When we are renewed, there's a new uplifting, a new joy and a new awareness, plus vast possibilities. That's part of the process of growth, hence our happiness when we realize that "had it not been ....", despite the pain, we are glad we did not make great errors and settle for less or for the wrong person.
Anyone can extend the invitation to us to become part of a couple even a person we have never met. We should always have an open mind, but also be very realistic. Not knowing another can either be exciting or create ambivalence, but part of the dance of becoming a couple begins with these, and one can only take a step at a time. Friendship is a good way to begin, so invite the person to seek friendship with you first.
It's good and in fact very healthy to open one's heart to love again, for with love we can accomplish a lot more. As for fear, throw that away, it's never too late to find a good, or in fact your own mate. Even when you think you have given your all, the heart has a way of expanding and pouring out more love, even in ways you never envisioned.
Continue to love, it's the greatest gift you can give and receive and one of the freest expressions, even of thoughts we can not orally convey. God has given each of us beautiful gifts, bask in whatever your gifts are and someone will love you for them. I personally enjoy writing and will continue to.
