After re-reading the article "AIDS has Quietly Caused the Deaths of Hundreds of Roman Catholic Priests" by Rev. Paul Shaughnessy, one sentence that caught my attention is

This seems to be a growing trend in a significant number of churches. Some Pastors are even becoming demi-gods and replacing the living God in the minds and lives of their congregation.
The same as that which is going on in political institutions including the U.S. government. E.g. removal of the name of God and anything God-related from Institutions and declarations.
Atheist and deviants are growing in numbers and drawing in the agnostics and hopeless with them, and as they do, they are using their political power to tear down institutions and beliefs on which the U.S. was formed. Unfortunately, what is American is usually deemed trendy, and as such other nations usually follow in tow.
Open homosexuality, gay marriages and other deviant behaviours are slowly but steadily becoming acceptable, and as those so inclined gain acceptance through political correctness, so increases the decay of morality in society.
On the other hand, the growing number of promiscuous, homosexual, covetous, greedy and self-serving pastors, priests and bishops out there are more attuned to becoming demi-gods than in installing or maintaining morality in society.
Where are we all headed? Man has a history of self destruction, and this trend certainly points in that direction.
A person that has no believe in God cannot fear God, let alone respect him, or abide by His commandments. The same way a child who does not fear his father cannot respect him.
Man has replaced his fear of God with his fear of his fellowmen, hence in order not to offend man, he condones all that is contrary to the longevity of man's life on this earth, by succumbing to political correctness.
Even in the animal kingdom, there is a system of, and a respect for hierarchy, hence the survival of animals. Man on the other hand is less concerned about his long term survival, but instead focuses on his immediate gratification, and accumulation of that which eventually will destroy his soul.
