The General Overseer of the Embassy of God Church, Ukrain, Pastor Sunday Adelaja, on Thursday, said the church's micro finance bank was set for inauguration early next year, as part of a programme to economically empower 40 million Africans, including 40,000 Nigerians.
He said God was using him through his church to touch the lives of over 200,000 people, including members of his congregation in Kiev and others in Europe and America. Adelaja said these during a press conference organised by the Daystar Christian Centre, as part of its three-day Leadership Conference in Oregun, Lagos.
Announcing his mission to Nigeria, Adelaja said his aim included partnering with established churches to address the decay in the system through the changing of perception and setting up a project to reduce and alleviate poverty among 40 million Africans in the next 20 years.
He said, "God has helped us to focus, not just on the spiritual aspect of life, but also on bringing to Him, politicians of note in the Ukrainian capital (Kiev), including the Chairman of the Supreme Court and notable senators in that country.
"We endeavour to impact on the social and economic lives of the children of God, bearing in mind that anything that is of concern to the people, including crime and corruption, is also of concern to Him. "We in the church make it our focus of attention because the church is the hospital of the society."
