Accepting Responsibiity for Dehumanizing Africans

Accepting Responsibiity for Dehumanizing Africans

Non-Africans, specifically Americans and Europeans can begin to mend fences with Africans and people of African descent by:

Accepting that Africans had their own dynamics, and were organized, educated, religious and progressive people in their own rights, before they were captured, stripped of their dignity, dehumanized and psychologically traumatized by slavery, which was solely to satisfy the Americans and Europeans greed and love of money.

Accepting that people of African descent were severely exploited for the development and advancement of America and Europe.

Accepting that African Americans were blatantly lied to through the media and any education they were received about Africa and Africans in order to dissuade and deter them from returning to Africa. Misconceptions about Africa were spread effectively, to ensure that African Americans would remain psychologically enslaved so as to continue to contribute significantly to the development and maintenance of America and Europe.

Accepting that even in this day and age, racism is still very much alive, and taking responsibility to actively eradicate it, by educating and enlightening their citizens about the vicious effects it has always had and will continue to have on people of African descent, if not eradicated.

Accepting that today's mostly educated Africans who have paid for their own transportation to Europe and America, are still being subject to harsh though sometimes subtly camouflaged racism, aka 2nd slavery, solely because of the colour of their skin, despite not being transported forcibly in slave ships. Their education, talents and skills are still being exploited for monetary gain, wherein they are mostly being paid lower wages and kept from excelling by glass ceilings, much at the sacrifice and expense of the development of their own continent and individual nations.

Videos like this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qMdPPIptWZ4&NR=1 can enlighten people who are unaware of the lives of Africans prior to slavery, about the realities and impact of slavery and how much psychological damage slavery has done to Africans in Africa; their African Americans descendants who have never had the opportunity to know their true heritage; and Africans who have migrated to America and Europe to seek greener pastures after the long-time and residual effects of colonization have greatly derailed most African nations, but are equally being challenged with institutionalized racism and discrimination.

While some African Americans seek monetary compensation in forms of restitution, as has been given to those who have suffered through genocide; this alone cannot reverse or change the effects of the long-term damages which have occurred and continue to occur unless more effective means of eradicating racism and discrimination are enforced or institutionalized, so that newer generations can embrace Africans and people of African descent, regardless of whether they are African-Americans, Caribs or South Americans, etc., as equal human beings, equally created by God, and therefore do not deserve to be judged solely by their nationalities, religion or colour of their skin.
