Cadbury Commences Teachers' Awards Scheme

Cadbury Nigeria Plc has kicked off the 2007 National Bourvita Teachers' Awards scheme with the distribution of forms nation wide.
Briefing newsmen in Lagos, the General Manager of Fredie Scott, Mr. George Cole said the award was Cadbury's efforts towards contributing her quota to up-scalling the standard of education in the country by promoting and rewarding excellence in the teaching profession.
He explained that the organisation also held a road show in Lagos with two teams covering local education districts in the state where nomination forms were distributed to teachers in both primary and secondary schools.
He noted that teachers were also sensitised about the benefits of the awards scheme which includes self improvement courses within and outside Nigeria, cash awards and other gift items.
"Going by the projections and preparations made by the organiser of the scheme, a larger volume of entries is expected this year due to a more aggresive approach towards reaching out to more teachers. Such as delimination of the country into smaller units to be covered by spceific fields agents to achieve greater grass-root spraed of the forms as well as increase in the number of forms from 12, 000 to 20, 000 to be distributed this year.
