Why Ask Questions?
Everyone has questions regarding the issues that make them believe or choose certain faiths or simply about life in general, but sometimes we need to test our faith by thinking out the box to know whether our faith is genuine and can stand the test of time and life's events or not. Else, we're simply believers by mouth and proclamations only, rather than believers who've passed through the furnace and been sharpened and found righteous.
It's easier to theorize about issues, but when realities face us or our loved ones, our responses and reactions may be completely different, so it's good to think beyond ourselves and circumstances sometimes. This way at least we're better prepared or at least have a better understanding of circumstances we have not experienced.
Most importantly, do we really know the God or gods we choose to serve or are we just going with the flow. Life throws us a curve every now and then, some more than others, how we chose to react or not react is based on all the wisdom we have gathered from the information before us, so it's best to be on our toes and know that we are indeed genuine in our chosen faith, whatever it may be, so we are not tossed around by every doctrine, nor embittered when we are tossed curves that we were totally unprepared for. This can be the deciding factor as to whether we stay or choose to deviate from our chosen faith; and if we say we believe in God, it can be the deciding factor as to whether we remain Christians, Muslims, etc, or get confused and become agnostics or whether we harden our hearts and become atheists if we were not so to begin with.
If we say we believe in God, then we should be sure we really know the God we are serving and most especially, why we have chosen to serve Him and if so, whether we are willing to be committed to going the full distance in serving Him. To know God is to know His character, to know Him is to love Him regardless of our circumstances, to know Him is to accept Him and know that as a father chastises his sons so will He chastise us also; and that we exist to serve Him and not vice versa. He can't be bribed, manipulated or combined with lesser gods, for He is a jealous God. He can be loving but can also proclaim His wrath, and our prayer is to understand who He is, so we can in all ways and at all times truly serve Him.
