Why do Africans Hate Nigerians?

We have been of great help to our African brother-nations, and especially to helpless states like Liberia, Sierra Leone, Guinea, and Gabon. We have refugees and asylum seekers all over Nigeria. We have transnational migrants. However, once they get here (the USA), they immediately badmouth us for being arrogant, pompous, overly aggressive, and shady in character.

These Africans thinks highly of Nigerian government; but think lowly of Nigerians. The reverse seems to be the case with America and her people: the world thinks highly of Americans; but disparages their government. Foreigners, and especially recent immigrants, generally think of Americans as being spoilt, wasteful, greedy and supercilious. Come to think of it: most of these immigrants come from countries with severe wants, needs, and deprivations - this conditions flaws their observations.

Statistically speaking, using the Census data, Nigerians are the most educated ethnic group in the US. The average Nigerian spends more years in school, has more qualifications than many other groups. You also must understand that we have extended family pressures on us even so far away from home. A Nigerian who makes $35K per annum sends between 5-10k home out of it annually to take care of the family and friends. These pressures are like propellants.

I recently read somewhere that the population of Nigeria is more than that of several African countries combined. Nigerians are 1 of every 5 existing blacks. No wonder our impact is felt worldwide.
