What are Your Views on Gay Marriage?

In these 'politically correct' days what has always been considered the norm is no longer so, and the attempt to permit freedom of expression even at the expense of what society had always considered morally right or wrong have been thrown out of the window. We no longer speak the truth as "we do not want to hurt one another's FEELINGS".

This is evident in our morally decaying society in various ways and not limited to our sexual preferences or choices. Now people who have committed certain crimes or were once considered deviants are those exalted or nominated in pillars of society. California's governor Schwazenneger was once known as a 'groping body builder' with very little respect for women, but now rules as governor. There are many others, who have been known to do drugs, solicit prostitutes, defraud companies in their positions as CEOs, etc, yet are elected into important positions or considered as [some people's] role models.

The issue of discussion here though is regarding not simply a moral choice, but how this choice infringes on "institutionalized marriage." Institutionalized marriage can be loosely defined as a "legal" union between a man and a woman, for the purpose of procreating children to increase, extend and prolong life on the face of the earth.

While some may say, who is to define what marriage should be, and others may feel free to change the definition of institutionalized marriage, the TRUTH and the FACT remains that two people of the same gender can NEVER procreate a new life. They may adopt, do artificial insemination, use surrogate mothers or even clone (when that becomes readily acceptable), but they by themselves and through their own sexual union CANNOT bring forth any children into this world. They need the availability of egg and sperm from the female and male gender to procreate.

The question now is "Should gay marriages be banned or permitted?" Please note that there is a difference between "unions" and "institutionalized marriages". Also, please share your views and opinions as to what you support [A Ban or Permission.]

For those who opt for the ban, you may sign the petition related to the "Emergency Suspension of California Marriage Ruling" at this link http://naijapositive.myfastforum.org/about2184.html

Thanks.

Californians Support Traditional Marriage: New poll says more people oppose gay marriage.

EUR Gospel
4th June '08

As part of a nationwide survey in the battleground states, regarding the presidential election, the following question was asked: Do you agree that only marriage between one man and one woman should be legal and binding in America?

Capital Resource Institute announced the results of the survey question and it indicated that more than 56.20% of Californians oppose homosexual marriage and 42.80% are for it. The ban on gay marriage was recently overturned by the California State Supreme Court.

"We are not surprised by these results," states Karen England, Capitol Resource Institute Executive Director. "The people of California understand the judges overstepped their judicial boundaries. California has granted the most sweeping 'equality' laws in the nation. But the people of California have drawn the line at hijacking the term 'marriage' to describe these unions."

A Field Poll released last week reported that 51% of Californians support homosexual marriage. "Contrary to the vague Field Poll (from last week), this polling accurately reflects the true sentiment of the electorate," stated England.

The survey was completed by ccAdvertising of Herndon, Virginia in one 24-hour period ending at 7:00 p.m. on May 30, 2008, with 528 California respondents (out of 7,613 respondents to the Traditional Marriage Question in the multi-state survey), and was statistically balanced by population density within each battleground state surveyed.
