What NOT to Do To Your Aging Parents
After reading 'The Wooden Bowl' http://naijapositive.myfastforum.org/about819.html a second time, I can only conclude that the way the couple treated their parents falls in the same category as:
Those who refuse to provide for the upkeep of their aging parents.
Those who refuse to buy their aging parents new clothing or simply give them old used ones, figuring they are going to die soon enough anyway.
Those who abandon their aging parents at nursing homes or with some other care taker so they don't have to be bothered with them.
Those who show disgust rather than compassion at their aging parents' incontinence.
Those who avoid or abandon their aging parents without a care as to their welfare or well-being.
Those who simply give their aging parents money instead of the love, companionship and compassion they desire.
Those who when feasible, deprive their aging parents the love and companionship of their grandchildren.
Those who curse, cuss, abuse and maltreat their aging parents even publicly.
Those who though capable, refuse to empathize and help when their aging parents suffer from the aches and pains of sicknesses, injuries, diseases and other destabilizing conditions.
Those who have the resources and finances to enable their aging parents to get around and about, but simply abandon them indoors to a life of solitary and loneliness so they can count the years, months, weeks and days to their death.
Those who abandon their aging parents when they are lonely, depressed, sick or in pain.
Those who selfishly refuse to do the things they are capable of doing for their aging parents, simply making unfulfilled promises they can, but NEVER keep.
Those who tell their aging parents ridiculous lies.
Those who steal from their aging parents.
Those who manipulate their aging parents for selfish gain.
Those who when capable and feasible, refuse to protect their aging parents from vultures who seek out the eldely to exploit them. (E.g. Charitable organizations, religious institutions, greedy family members, neighbours, doctors, accountants, lawyers, enemies pretending to be friends, strangers and other wolves in sheep's clothing.)
Those who think their aging parents are nuisances.
Unforgiving offspring who despise and show hatred towards their aging parents and any who show them compassion.
Those who are simply mean, extremely wicked and heartless towards their aging parents.
Those who wickedly await or device their aging parents death so they can gain their inheritances.
Those who knock off or murder their aging parents for selfish and mostly monetary gain.
Worst of all are those who partake in most or all of the above and then shed CROCODILE TEARS after their aging parents have passed on.
