Nigerians - Most Educated Ethnic Group in the US

Statistically speaking, using the Census data, Nigerians are the most educated ethnic group in the US. The average Nigerian spends more years in school, has more qualifications than many other groups.

You also must understand that we have extended family pressures on us even so far away from home. A Nigerian who makes $35K per annum sends between 5-10k home out of it annually to take care of the family and friends. These pressures are like propellants.

Schools and colleges and public policy must keep pace with these demands. We must do all we can to improve K-12 education, and from an early age, instill the skills needed for the new economy.
