Nama Begins Infrastructure Upgrade in Airports

The Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA) says it will, next week, begin the upgrade of navigational aids at airports in the country. The Managing Director of NAMA, Capt. Ado Sanusi, made the announcement in Ikeja yesterday and said the move was to ensure safety in the aviation sector.
Sanusi told newsmen that spare parts worth N89.2 million had been received and engineers would begin work next week and complete the first phase in two weeks. The materials received are Conventional Very High Frequency Omni Directopnal Radio and Range, Doppler Very High Frequency Omni Directional Range and Non Directional Beacons.
He said the first phase of the work would start simultaneously in Lagos, Kano, Owerri and Abuja airports and the second phase would cover other airports.
