Imo State on Thursday defeated Adamawa State 4-1 at the ongoing National School Sports Festival Under-15 football event at the Teslim Balogun Stadium, Lagos. A hat-trick from Bright Igbokwu and a beautiful strike by Ubalaka Kosisochi earned the Imo boys full points.
But Adamawa claimed the first gold medal of the festival, tagged Lagos 2008, after emerging the best team in the march past event of the colourful opening ceremony. Clad in eye-catching attires, Adamawa thrilled spectators with a display of accuracy and showmanship. Twenty-six states are taking part in the festival.
Special Assistant to Lagos State Governor on Sports, Dr. Dolapo Badru,who represented Governor Babatunde Fashola, commended the Nigeria School Sports Federation for organising the festvial and choosing Lagos as the host of the madien edition.
