Katsina Education Board Targets 85 Percent School Enrolment

The Katsina State Universal Education Board has promised to boost primary school enrolment to 85% of school age children. Speaking on his assumption of duty, the new chairman, Alhaji Suleiman Nuhu Kuki said the state governor, Ibrahim Shema, was poised to uplifting primary education in the state.
He said the board would involve local community and traditional leaders in enlightening programmes and seek the possibility of introducing some incentives to ensure full participation in rural areas.
He said the board would expand the number of primary schools and improve access to basic computer training in line with modern information and communication technology drives. He said sporting culture would be promoted to ensure that talents were captured young.
The chairman said staff welfare, provision of infrastructure and teaching aids as well as massive training and retraining of teachers would receive a boost.
