Kaduna Refinery Resumes Operations After 3 Years
3/17/08
Kaduna Refining and Petrochemical Company (KRPC) resumed operations yesterday after three years’ forced closure due to the vandalisation of pipelines supplying it with crude oil. Managing Director of KRPC Engineer Moshood Agoro had earlier announced last Tuesday that the refinery would commence operation before last Friday. Based on his announcement, petroleum product marketers had besieged the refinery with their tankers with the hope of lifting fuel that Friday, but the refinery did not start production then. When contacted to speak on the current capability of the refinery, Engineer Agoro referred Daily Trust to the KRPC Public Affairs Manager, Malam Abdullahi Idris who could not be reached on his phone. The refinery suddenly became a beehive of activities again yesterday as operations resumed.
