Hi Everyone,
I just wanted to say 'Welcome Aboard' to all the New members who have joined to date. Do not be shy to introduce yourselves and if you so desire, you may share something(s) about yourself and expectations from this forum.
Your membership is much appreciated, but your active participation is equally desired. Please endeavour to respond to any/all of the topics you've read.
It takes a village to raise a child so please put on your village clothes and let's mold (and if need be whoop) this child into a successful adult.
I'm believing all members have joined to benefit somewhat from what this forum has to offer, so we each need to work towards what we expect the forum to be, through joint effort.
Thanks once again.

To get the ball rolling, I'll start with a little about myself, my desires and expectations.
I was raised in Nigeria, but crisscross continents, and spend most of my time between Africa and U.S., so I can say I'm a Nigerian first, a 'Global Citizen' next and African-American thereafter.
I love Nigeria and I'm proud to state so, irrespective of some of her shortcomings, which some nations and individuals have chosen for their own benefits to capitalize on, by inflamming, while forgetting to pick the logs in their own eyes. It's quite unfortunate some of Nigeria's citizens are the loudest trumpeters of negative news regarding our country, especially on internet forums. (Maybe that's their own calling, but it's not mine.)
The benefits I offer where ever I go or dwell are as a direct result of the upbringing, nurturing and foundational strengths I acquired from being raised in Nigeria. I will not sacrifice these for anything. While I've also gained from my host nation(s), my desires and actions are designed to give back to Nigeria, the nation that gave me the strong and culturally strong footstool from which I started.
I hope we Nigerians can take a cue from the Indians/Pakistans and use our education, talents and skills to contribute to the growth and development of a better Nigeria, instead of simply improving our host nations at the expense of our own country, and then complaining.
Such actions will eliminate the excuses that some of us make, that we are waiting for Nigeria to get better first. Foriegners will not develop Nigeria, it is not in their best interest, we Nigerians are the ones who can shape Nigeria into what we want it to be. It is our country and its success should be our priority.
I love reading, writing and discussions among many other things, and my expectations in this forum is to accentuate the positive, discuss and develop strategies to improve Nigeria, increase my knowledge and meet people of diverse backgrounds and interests through participation in any/all of the other forum threads in the process.
Some of you I know, but just like I look forward to getting to know new people on this site, we will all realize that we would be sharing not just thoughts and ideas, but parts of ourselves that are new revelations to even those whom we believe we know.
Cheers,
Cxsm
