Encouraging Nigerian Investors

Nigeria should encourage Nigerians to invest in the development of our country. We cannot continue to put foreigners on a pedestal by considering them the experts in every situation, while watching some of them exploit us, disregarded our human resources and financially benefiting tremendously at Nigeria's expense.

Such is the case of the Niger Delta area which has resulted in idle youth who have not benefited from the resources of their state resorting to extreme means to get what they feel cheated out of.

Also, as Government embarks on its privatization efforts, it should not undervalue our assets and resources for quick financial gain.

Most importantly, where we have in-house investors who are bonafide citizens of Nigeria, we should encourage them to invest in Nigeria, thereby providing jobs and utilizing the human resources that would otherwise be idle.

It doesn't make any sense when we invite investors to do business in Nigeria, only for them to turn around and bring their unnecessary human resources, while our qualified youth remain unemployed. This is nothing but exploitation, as in the case of some Chinese business presently set up in Nigeria. We can only thank God and our government for taking measures to eradicate such practices, although they need to be swifter.

When decent and hardworking Nigerians choose to invest in Nigeria rather than taking out currency out to hide in foreign countries, they should be encouraged and commended, rather than criticized, envied and/or unsupported.

Encouragement rather than discouragement of Nigerian investors is what would also expedite the return of Nigerians in the Diaspora who have been nursing the idea of returning home to contribute and invest in Nigeria.

If they are seen and respected as experts in their fields and equals in task to the foreigners who sometimes are over-glorified, then Nigeria can begin to enjoy a brain-gain, rather than continuously rely on foreigners and expediting the brain-drain.

The Nigerian government needs to do all it can to provide the amenities that will enable Nigerian investors to adequately maintain their business investments, so they don't give up, fold up and invest abroad, which only perpetuates the need or desire for foreign investors to keep the economy buoyant. Adequate power supply is one of the most critical needs paralyzing the efforts of Nigerians in Nigeria and discouraging Nigerians outside Nigeria from setting up businesses and/or maintaining businesses, because the cost of alternate power resources needed to adequately and efficiently run their businesses can be quite exorbitant.

Finally, willing and capable Nigerians within the corridors of Nigeria should always be considered first in investment opportunities as this is the patriotic thing to do, and will encourage the youth to look within, rather than desperately seeking an exit.

Thank God for you.

This is just the kind of encouragement we at Nigeriantvonline.com are looking for in our effort to add our talent to our Countries Economy. We are looking for Investors. It is my belief as learned Nigerians in Diaspora that when we decide to go back home, we should bring an additional
entrepreneurial business plan that would enhance the Economy.

Doctors should plan to join the teachers hospitals in any state, or open a clinic. Lawyers should be ready to open up a legal practice, engineers should join an engineering firm or open one with a partner. In other words, Bring home the Bacon. Come home with a plan. Bring some tangible idea to the Economic table.

That is what Nigeriantvonline is desperately trying to do. If there are rich Nigerians here in America, and we know there are plenty, and you (the rich) are not ready to go home. Invest in our Plan. Send us home so we can lay a foundation of comfort you are familiar with so you can join us sooner than later as a  corps. Call me, lets talk.

God Bless
