Nigerian Doctor Wins U.S. Award for Best Practice

A NIGERIAN, Dr. Moses Gordon Bestman on Thursday, received American medal of honour for best practice in medicine.
The award was given to 100 personalities worldwide yearly for excellence. The governing board of the American Biographical Institute, in the U.S. declared the award.
Bestman who was placed 46th in the ranking of the current recipients across the globe, is a Principal Medical Officer on the Rivers Government owned Iger Hospital, Port Harcourt.
The Nigerian medical practitioner has served as personal physician to four successive governors of Rivers, including Chief Ada George, retired Col. Dauda Komo, retired Col. Musa Shehu and Dr. Peter Odili.
The World Academy of Letters also honoured Bestman, who had previously bagged several international awards in the field of medicine this year.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that a letter was attached to the certificate of honour in addition to a golden medal.
In the letter the president of the American Biographical Institute, Mr. J.M. Evans, said that the Nigerian physician got the award for his outstanding contributions to the growth of the medical practice.
Receiving the certificate, Bestman expressed happiness for the award and said, "I feel both encouraged and humbled by this international recognition."
He said he had turned down some appointments to serve outside the country "because it will take me away from my practice here and service to Nigerians, which I enjoy immensely.

N.B. He received the award while practicing medicine within the walls of Nigeria.
