Be Very Discerning When Applying Faith!

As Christians we tend to sometimes forget our hearts of wisdom when it comes to matters of "Faith," but that is the very time we need to be very alert and very discerning, especially in these end days; because there are so many false churches, doctrines, prophets, priests, pastors, tongues, prophecies, visions and miracles existing in today's world.

Not that this is a new thing or a new discovery, but just that it's so rampant nowadays; that as people seek to get closer to God, they can easily be misled even to the point where they eventually abandon the very God they are seeking, because of their various negative and sometimes almost deadly experiences with the very ones whom they trusted to guide them in their walk with God.

Not that men of God are infallible, but there are some that are fake from the onset and in their cunning and manipulative ways they seek to gain hold of vulnerable God fearing flock only to mislead, misguide, manipulate and deceive them.

While you have 'some' of these fake pastors wearing collars they never qualified for; you also have those self-appointed rather than God-anointed; those who are homosexuals masking as straight priests in order to prey on young unsuspecting altar boys; those who are seeking quick financial gains through their congregation; those who run cults under the pretext of Christian institutions, only to put their congregation in bondage; those who use magic, witchcraft and demons to fool their congregations into believing the end results are God's miracles; those who slowly but cunningly indoctrinate their congregation into practices that are unscriptural; those who use their charisma to gain power, which is used for self-service and aggrandizing rather than God's purposes; those who enslave male members of their congregation, while equally enticing, seducing and sleeping with, or even raping their female congregational members.

What do all these have in common? They are all good preachers, which means they have effectively mastered the ability to present the word of God. What do they equally lack? The fear of God, and the ability to truly lead and guide their flock to true salvation.

We live in a very fast paced world nowadays and some of our cultures are so demanding that we want everything now, but this kind of attitude can be very dangerous, because a fast food attitude can never result in a well-thought out home cooked meal.

Nowadays, with the reduction of membership in Orthodox churches and the rise of Pentecostal churches the dangers are even more widespread, as there are less stringent and less structured checks and balances. Anyone can rent a warehouse, declare himself a priest or pastor and begin his nontaxable venture. If he's charismatic, he will gain ground faster, and if he speaks in tongues, he might even dazzle his congregation faster, as they have absolutely no idea what kind of tongues he's speaking in, Godly, demonic, witchcraft, or even self-manufactured.

People are usually drawn to that which is uncommon, but the lack of discernment, and the failure to use wise judgment, or even for those who are long-practicing Christians the neglect to listen to their inner man or simple carelessness; will produce the same result, entrapment in a web of spiritual deception.

Sometimes we are lazy Christians and rely on other people's words and perspectives in making decisions which we should carefully make ourselves, hence we fall into these deceptive cycles faster. Some of us are so lazy, we don't even consult our Bibles, while some don't even own Bibles, but rely solely on the pastors words; hence when there are errors or straddling from the truth (word of God) we are unaware, and by the time we realize we're being led on the wrong path, we are caught totally unawares.

Some of us are even nudged by our inner man that something is amiss, but because we have become creatures of habit, we remain complacent in spiritual environments that are not conducive to our spiritual well-being. While some of us are spiritually naive to believe that God will always take care of us, even when His Spirit is nudging and warning us to depart from dangerous spiritual environments.

Sometimes though, those who receive unction from the Holy Spirit are convinced to remain in ungodly spiritual environments by other members who are not so spiritually in tune, and are thus incapable or hearing the voice of their inner man. When we heed the voice of man rather that of God nudging us out of our carelessness, the end result is the same, we remain in environments from which we should have departed.

The unction is only confirmed when big exposes have occurred; then we remember and realize that we had previously received the Holy Spirits unction, warning us to use our discernment and depart from such environments.
There has never been a situation where after an expose of an unscrupulous priest/pastor/prophet, church or cult, that there wasn't at least one member who had received a previous unction from the Holy Spirit that something was amiss.

How then do we become alert to our spiritual environments? We need to be well-versed in the word of God, through which His Spirit speaks to, directs and guides us. As we become more in tune with the Word of God and the Holy Spirit, we will become more in tune with His will and His Spirit will give us discernment and direct us to where we need to be, or which spiritual environments we need to depart from.
